Facebook recently surpassed Google as the king of the internet. They have now managed to accumulate more average daily users then Google. So what does this mean for you? Well it should show you a few things. First – Google isn’t the end all be all for internet marketing. It’s not even the largest site in the world anymore.
I’m not saying that you should totally ignore Google – but you can’t focus on them exclusively. PPC-Coach has a Facebook forum that you will be able to learn a lot from. One of the biggest things I always tell people is that coaching is a two way street. You have to ask questions to get answers so don’t be afraid to ask tons of questions in the Facebook forums. There are over 100,000 posts on PPC-Coach and it didn’t get that way by people clamming up.
Facebook has a lot of little quirks that you need to be aware of. Most people start off Facebook ads entirely wrong. They throw up one ad and when the campaign is unprofitable they leave and say it’s a waste of time. Facebook takes work – and it takes dedication. You need to submit literally hundreds of ads for a new campaign if you really want to test it properly.
Sometimes you’ll submit one hundred or more ads only to have them all denied in one fell swoop. You can’t get discouraged by this – you have to either resubmit the ads or make sure they follow the guidelines and then create new ones if they don’t. It may sound like an impossible task to create that many ads – let alone for one campaign.
I would highly suggest that you invest in one of the tools that I see as my best investment ever. Facebook Ads Manager will allow you to set a few variables and let it create the hundreds of ads for you with hardly any work on your part. It may seem expensive but if you think about the time it saves you on a daily basis it could costs thousands and still be worth every penny. Facebook changes their ad creation page frequently and Facebook Ads Manager is always on top of keeping the tool updated to work.
We’ll go over the basic steps to creating a Facebook ad in one of the next posts. I’d like to talk about the best ways to create ads and what you should put most of your focus on.
